STEM workshops

Caroline's mission is to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists. In order to reach as many children as possible, she runs workshops training STEM ambassadors to go into schools and run design-and-make activities.

She also creates class kits of materials for the STEM ambassadors to take into schools, supported by comprehensive literature including PowerPoints, lesson plans and worksheets.

What people say

Kate Haskell

Principal Consultant, Avantis Performance

"I attended a STEM ambassador training workshop, led by the inspirational Caroline Alliston, offering participants the chance to dive into fun and engaging design and make projects. I am now fully prepared to run STEM workshops in primary schools. By sharing our skills and enthusiasm for STEM, we can make a real difference in the lives of young students and help shape their futures."

Shaun Pettitt

Engineer and STEM Ambassador

"The students were very engaged with the activity and enjoyed building the models. There is a good bit of engineering theory lightly thrown in, so the students are learning without realising it. When we asked at the end whether any of the students would consider a career in engineering, 75% of them said they would."

Sue

Year 5-6 teacher and science lead, Rangeworthy School

"What a fun activity! The children thoroughly enjoyed their day, especially when it came to testing their boats outside. They are still saying it was one of the best things they have done. They learned a great deal about forces and electric circuits, as well as practising skills such as measuring and using tools safely. The engineers did a great job – they have definitely inspired the children. If only every activity we did was as well-resourced as this!"
